Apartment
B12G

A 1150 sq.ft apartment in Chennai, designed with a combination of contemporary elements and classical features. The material choices were majorly influenced by the clients love for wood and pastel shades. Rectilinear elements define and divide the space. The living and the dining room are visually divided by the varying false ceiling patterns.

The challenge was incorporating a false ceiling as the original ceiling was low by itself. This was solved by providing voids in false ceiling and also introducing linear elements in the wall to make it seem longer. Metallic beading in the false ceiling add a subtle luxe to the contemporary space.

The distinct prayer unit in between the living and dining area is ornamented with a rich metallic border in a Moorish arch. Opposite to this is the crockery unit featuring an enigmatic artwork by Artist Ar. Ajith Kumar. This work of art is an amalgamation of Arabic lettering and an amusing intricate maze pattern.

Mint colored lacquered glass cabinets along with matte finished grungy copper overhead cabinets constitute the kitchen. It is enhanced by the black granite counter top and black matte wall tiles illuminated with lights.
